WSOP Academy set to take place during 2009 WSOP
If you feel you could use professional assistance from some of poker’s best to hone your poker skills, you’ll be glad to know that there will be four WSOP Academy Events in Las Vegas during the 2009 WSOP Events. Each of these 4 events will cover a different element of the game: from improving tournament results, or winning in cash games to performing better during the WSOP. So whether you’re a beginner, intermediate or more advanced player, you will be able to get some value from at least one or more of the courses.
Best of all is that you’ll get hands-on, personal instructions from some of the top professionals on the poker scene, who will spend one-on-one time with each participant:
- “The Poker Brat” Phil Hellmuth who holds the world record for the most WSOP Bracelets;
- Annie Duke who has cashed in around 45 times at major poker events;
- Greg “Fossilman” Raymer who has an equally impressive number of cashes with 3 first place finishes at major poker events;
- Consistent player and winner of a WPT Event, Alex Outhred
- Mark Gregorich who has finished in the money at notable poker events a remarkable 56 times already;
- Bernard Lee; who, in addition to being a familiar face at final tables has cashed in a number of times at WSOP events;
- WSOP Bracelet holder Mark “The Shark” Seif whose super aggressive and cunning playing style has earned him a stunning 63 cashes and 12 victories at major events.
Another attractive aspect of these courses is that you will get to learn how to read people and pick up on their poker tells by none other than former FBI agent and highly appraised body language expert Joe Navarro.
The courses will be presented in an interactive manner and students will receive the opportunity to practise what they have learnt, through participating in private tournaments with a 2009 WSOP Main Event seat up for grabs.
The events are scheduled to take place as follows:
- Cash Game Academy: 30th to the 31st of May 2009
- Ladies Only: 5th to the 6th of June 2009
- Tournament Academy: 13th to the 14th of June 2009
