With your head or your heart…
The reason poker is called a ‘sport’ as opposed to a ‘game’ is because of the amount of skill it takes to play. If you good with numbers and people there is a chance you will be good at poker. Poker is a number cruncher game. Professional poker player talk about the size of the pot in relation to the size of their stack. They babble about pot odds and percentages.
But you will also always hear the poker player saying ‘it just felt right’ and ‘I had a gut feeling about it”. We’ve all had the sensation when a little voice inside your head tells you to just go for it and leave all rationality behind!
So as a poker player? Do you tend to listen to your irrational side and play on gut feeling?

I think that sometimes I do make calls that are not rational. It’s like that Chicken Licken ad were the guys has a monkey on his back. I just have to give in to that feeling sometimes and just call.
But i think there is more to our subconscious that takes picks up on factors we are not aware of and that is what gives us that feeling to call. Like when you think you picked up on a tell and realize the player has noticed the tell and changes or deliberately gives you the false tell, but you don’t respond as usual
