2009 WSOP Event #2
In celebration of its 40th anniversary the 2009 WSOP opened to the public with a $40,000 Buy-In No Limit Hold’em event. As anticipated: the big money lured the big guns, with a 201 player field consisting of some of the biggest names in poker. Doyle Brunson, Johnny Chan, Tom “durrrr” Dwan, Peter Eastgate, Phil Hellmuth, Phil Ivey, Chris Moneymaker and Greg Raymer were to name a few of the well known pro’s who participated in this event. But honors went to Russian Vitaly Lunken who claimed this prestigious title and the extremely handsome $1,891,012 prize pot.
