Underdog gets the bone!
As he had no tournament experience and only three years of poker play under the belt…No one expected Bart Tichelman to get very far in the Grand Casino Tunica Poker Tournament (this is a WSOP circuit event). But he proved he is an poker force to be reconed with miraculously managed to survive the nine man final table and walk away with the victory.
Just getting to the final table was victory enough for the first timer. He may have entered the final table with one of the lowest chip count but he hung in there and slowly built up his stay to finally going heads against Donald Nicholson. Nicholson went 'all-in' with Q 8 whilst Bart called showing K4 off. The board came A 4 3 K and the river card was irrlevant as Don was drawing dead. Tichelman claimed the titale as well as the $428,210 first prize. To sweeten the deal he also walked away with a seat in the 2008 WSOP Main Event, and the gold and diamond circuit championship ring
