Tony G on his knees at 2009 Aussie Millions
Some love him, some hate him. Either way, Tony Guogo aka “Tony G” is a poker force to be reckoned with. In fact, since he started featuring at final tables in 2000, he has had 46 cashes at major live poker tournaments and has earned more than two and a half million dollars already. Naturally, the last place that one would expect this esteemed pro to be at the 2009 Aussie Millions is on his knees… Which is exactly what happened!
During Day 1 of Event #3 $1,100 Omaha Hi-Lo, Tony G raised the bet and tossed four chips onto the felt, two 500-chips and two 100-chips, but one of the 500-chips rolled off the table. Next thing a number of players were under the table, including Tony G, who got down his hands and knees and crawled around to look for it. Everyone had a laugh when Tony claimed that the floor must have a hole in it, as it was simply nowhere to be found. Fortunately one of the floor staff members saved the day by finally allocating the missing chip and the game continued. The staff ruled that Tony G’s raise would stand.
