The Great Dane struck down by Thunder
Formidable poker pro Gus Hansen AKA “The Great Dane” was struck down by a powerful left blow from Theo Jörgensen AKA “The Thunder” during their prop-bet celebrity boxing match this past weekend. This incident occurred during the third round of the match, resulting in the panel of judges ruling in Jörgensen’s favour. For his win, he collected $25,000.
Although defeated, “The Great Dane” did not walk away empty-handed. Since this was a sports betting event, Hansen placed a handicap on himself and it is reported that Jörgensen’s win earned him a comfortable $35,000.
This entertaining event was high on the “must see” list for a number of the who's who on the poker scene. An intense high stakes poker battle between Dwan AKA durrrr and Patrik Antonius, was apparently even paused so that they could watch the match first.
