Rahme Makes History and Final Table at WSOP Main Event!!
After a grueling 16-hour marathon, Ray Rahme finally eliminated Steven Garfinkle, to secure his spot as one of the 9 final tablists at the WSOP main event! Ray called a 3.2 Million all-in from Garfinkle. Garfinkle showed A 3 off-suit and Ray turned over pocket Queens. When the flop came down Q J K, there were a few tense moments avoiding a ten, but the best hand held up and the celebrations began.
Ray played incredible poker on Day 6 making some amazing calls and laying down some big hands. With the voice of his Southern African Supporters behind him, singing “shosholoza” with every pot he took down, the atmosphere was electric. Ray was spurred on to make history as the first ever Southern African to make it to the final table of the WSOP Main Event.
The 9 remaining players have come through a field of over 6300 and are all guaranteed a minimum of $525,000. The prize money jumps at the final table are significant. 6th place will cash $956,000 and the top 5 will all become dollar millionaires with the grand prize set at 8.25 Million Dollars.
Ray will start the final table in excellent shape and a very healthy chip stack. Ray currently has 16.3 million chips and is in 4th place, only 7 million chips away from the chip leader.
