Ilja Martinovic made a play with 8 5 suited on the premise that if he gets lucky he plays and if not he is tired of being shortstacked. He was called by the chip leader Marco Farrell with A J. The flop produced two clubs and the A J! No more clubs appeared however and Ilja is getting some air and probably wondering if waiting a hand or two would have given him a better finish than 65th place.
Dave Spangenberg is still running hot and has eliminated Donovan Casey (64th) and almost eliminated Francis Vanderlinden. The table was midway through the chipping up stage and Francis was left with a 25 chip that he could not bet! The chip was converted into a 100 chip which permitted him to try for the antes in the next hand and almost made a miraculous recovery when he flopped a flush draw! Alas his time was up…. 63rd
