Dale Winterstein stared incredulously at the outs that he missed when he couldn’t complete his straight or his flush to Herman Strydom’s flopped set.
On the action table, Savvas Koushis out of the BB with 10s 3s, managed to get all of his money into the middle with a flush draw on the flop and was in a bit of trouble when he saw that Greg Tucker had hit middle set and Robert Le Roux had flopped the nut straight! The turn helped no one but the river was a spade that did not pair the board! Koushis as the short stack tripled up and Le Roux almost broke even with the side pot. Tucker rushed off for a re-buy.
Jaco Storm nearly lost a pot with snowmen to Anthony Gordon’s Ajax when the Ace appeared on the flop. It is looking more and more like Storm’s night though because the board ended up all spades to make it a split pot.
