Largest Number of players so far in WSOP 2007, in Day 1C
The biggest turnout yet in the 3 days played of the 2007 World Series of Poker Main Event with 1,743 players registered. With one day left to go – Day 1D, it is likely that the final number of entrants will exceed the 6,000 player mark, which is well behind last year’s record of 8,773 players.
Starters in today’s field included Phil Ivey, Andy Bloch, T.J. Cloutier, Vanessa Rousso and Kenna James, all of whom unfortunately fell out during the course of the day.
Seinfeld character “George” – Jason Alexander was joined by Jennifer Tilly and Shannon Elizabeth in adding the Hollywood element to the field, however, it was only Alexander who made it through the second day. Another big name to be knocked out early were Greg Raymer.
Those who breathed a sigh of exhausted relief in their survival were Allen Cunningham, Todd Brunson, Chad Brown, Robert Varkonyi, Brad Daugherty, Chris Moneymaker and Chris 'Jesus' Ferguson.
