Keep your strategy simple
When planning your strategy you must keep in mind the more complex you make it the greater chance it has of falling apart. It's important to have a strategy when playing poker, you won’t get very far without one but you need to have a series of small strategies, each tailored to a different situation.
There are too many variable such as your opponents, blinds, position etc. to plan the game from the first hand to the last. Big grand strategies don’t factor luck as they are inflexible and unable to deal with eventualities. It’s advisable to have simpler strategies which you can adjust and implement when the situation warrants it. Quick thinking and flexibility is a key skill in poker. You must always be ready to adjust your strategy.
