Joe’s still in after Final Day 1 at WSOP
Darren Kramer, Robert Kay and Joe-Boy Rahme were the faces representing South Africa at today’s final day 1D at the World Series of Poker Main Event.
Unfortunately Robert was knocked out relatively early, followed later in the day by Darren Kramer. Joe Rahme however did us proud and will be playing his second day on Wednesday 11th July.
Daniel Negreanu, Antonio Esfandiari, Gus Hansen, Erick Lindgren, Jamie Gold and Phil Hellmuth were the most well known faces amongst the final first day players.
Phil Hellmuth was lucky to be sitting at the table today after a high speed crash (172mph) in the UltimateBet promo race car, which he crashed while driving around the Rio Hotel parking lot.
“The car sustained serious damage and (Phil) Hellmuth needs to consider re-taking driving lessons,” Gambling911.com Senior Editor Payton O'Brien suggested.
While there are those that believe this is all in attempt to garner some publicity, there are many fans who are very glad to hear that he’s doing ok. Hellmuth was inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame this past week, along with Barbara Enright.
Only Gus Hansen and Daniel Negreanu survived the day out of the big names.
