Final Table experience, Will it count?
Three of our ten finalists have been under the spotlight before.
Frano Lottering came sixth in the February 2009 Tournament earning R225,000. He will certainly be trying to improve on that performance and with at least ten rotations in hand, he will have a fair chance.
This will be Ryan Eber’s 5th All Africa final table! With winnings of over R1,5 million in his previous four cashes including a fourth place finish, two thirds and a win, he is the man to beat. He also has a massive advantage in that he holds 26% of the chips currently in play and outchips his nearest rival by 2:1. As it stands, Ryan Eber must be the favourite for his second title.
Chris Convery is the man who has managed to convert his final table appearances into wins. In his previous three final tables he has come 9th once and taken every single chip on the other two occasions. He has slightly less than Eber in total winnings only because his first win was only worth R400,000 in the early days of the tournament. With an above average stack and lying third in chips, Chris will be the most dangerous competitor at the final table.
As to the other seven players facing the bright lights and the TV cameras for the first time… Good Luck Gents.
