Day 1D – they said poker was crazy, but this … !
It’s Day 1D of the World Series of Poker Main Event and it’s crazy out there. Let me say that again – IT’S CRAZY OUT THERE! There are no seats left … all sold out and there is a near riot brewing in the corridors of at least 500 players who aren’t able to play. Among those are notables such as TJ Cloutier, Patrick Antonius, Mike Sexton and our very own Danny K.

These players are very unhappy and as I write there is a meeting (sans media cameras) with the tournament director, Jack Effel explaining the situation. While that goes on about 2,800 players are in their prized seats (who thought those $10,000 seats would be so precious?!) and they are spread far and wide … Team All Africa Poker media team have now donned their running shoes, as there is at least a kilometer of walking between tournament rooms to find our 7 South African players today.
Piggs Peak Casino’s managing director, Howard Berchowitz, Aston Soon-Shiong, Nicolas Zakhem, Joe-boy Rahme, Andre Johnstone, Jonathan Voss and Jarred Solomon seem to be unaware of the furore brewing outside the doors of the Amazon, Brazilia and Buzio tournament rooms.
