Day 1 at the Aussie Millions
As the day progressed at the main event of the Aussie millions, so did the aggressive play. Eric “Jeciimd” Chadwick, survived a stressful “all in,” holding pocket aces, luckily managed to send his opponent to the rail and doubling his stack to 49, 900.
Oliver Gill also got lucky and outlasted his opponent, in a heart racing “all in.” He claimed the pot, and increased his chip stack to 58, 000. One of the unlucky ones was David Singer, who got knocked after going head to head with Kev Atlin. John Juanda’s chip stack seemed to be constantly fluctuating… He took a few heavy blows at the beginning of the day, setting him down to a low 8, 375 chip stack. A few hours of good play increased his stack to 17, 000 again, which he’ll have to double soon if he wants to play with the big boys.
Local icon, Raymond Rahme received quite a nasty blow from fiery the J.J. Lui who proceeded to claim the pot of 12, 000. However, concluding Day 1, our local poker legend bounced back beautifully and proved to still be in the running, as he finished amongst the top fifteen chip leaders.
