Creeping up on Ilija
Here are the chip counts going into the final table.
Nic Zakhem is still in with a chance to become a two time winner and Ryan Brauer will be looking to try for that first elusive All Africa title after his second place finish a few years ago. Both have their work cut out for them as their stacks are not leaving them with much room to manoeuvre.
Russel Joselowsky is the interesting man in this group. We know that he is lucky because this is the second time that he has won a seat into All Africa. In March he was the sms competition winner and this time he won it in a charity event! In March he was the first player eliminated because he had no re-buys. This time around he tried to sell his seat and was unsuccessful. Will he be another Chris Moneymaker?
Amongst the finalists are some internet prodigies that are part of the new poker elite that play a very solid game. They are all yapping at Ilija’s heels.
The big story of course is Ilija Martinovic. Always a solid performer and known for his aggression he has a huge stack to continue bullying the short stacks. Is it his time?
Ilija Martinovic 1 106 500
Eric Brand 540 000
Richard Barnard 381 500
Peter Nilson 355 000
Herber Anthony Alting 311 500
Gareth Wobbe 291 000
Eben Lottering 272 500
Nicolas Zakhem 169 500
Ryan Brauer 146 000
Russel Joselowsky 78 000
We will return after the interviews with live reporting. Every hand – LIVE.
