Crazy plays and retribution
Marc Isaacson is possibly one of the loosest players in tournaments with his “Any two cards” principle. Occasionally he hits a flop in a big way with rags and gets paid off. He played with 9 2 off suit and flopped two pairs against Matthew Lawson’s AK on an A 9 2 board. After much betting to and fro all the chips went in and Lawson was suitably distressed whilst Isaacson flippantly explained to him that he wasn’t drawing dead. The turn card was a six not helping Lawson. The river was also a six improving Isaacson to two pair nines and sixes but also improving Lawson to two pairs Aces and sixes.
Lawson commented, “Sorry man, unlucky… but I don’t feel too bad about it!”
All 119 players are still hanging in. There are still 2 hours and fifteen minutes to negotiate before the re-buy period ends.
