A Tournament of Records

The 18^th All Africa Poker Tournament has been won by Wessel Jacobs. A devoted family man and deserving champion who through the whole event kept his cool. He played a solid game and persevered when the cards did not fall for him and had the patience to wait for his winners.

The tournament will also be remembered for the longest final table – a sure sign that quality players plied their trade with skill.

Another record was that we had two ladies at the final table! An extraordinary achievement considering the very small proportion of female poker players.

Melanie Banfield once again proved her pedigree by being the only lady to make the final table twice and also equaling Martie Faber’s record of finishing third.

Thank you to the whole All Africa Poker Team, including MC Productions film crew for yet another highly successful tournament and world class production.

Changing fortunes

Leonard Dormehl raises to 30k and Joe Rahme moves all-in and squeezes him out. It is a desperate time for Leonard.

Deon Minnaar is back in the game. Neville Robbeson raised and was re-raised by Wessel Jacobs. Deon Minnaar then moved all-in. Neville got out of the way and Wessel completed for another 10k.

Showdown:

Wessel: A Q

Deon: 10 10

Flop: A 5 2, Turn: 10, River 3

Minnaar now has over 150k and whilst he can’t relax yet at least he isn’t in extreme danger.

The newest Champion

Hand 137: Jay completes and Darren checks.
The flop comes 4 5 2 and everybody checks, Turn is a Q and checks again, the river brings a 6 . Darren bets 120k and Jay moves all-in for all his chips.

Jay shows JK for King high and Darren shows 3 5 for a straight! Darren Kramer is the new All Africa Poker Champion!

Jay Sookoo is eliminated in second place and wins R435 000 and a WPT BOOTCAMP PACKAGE valued at R70K. Very well played Jay, Congratualtions!

Darren Kramer is crowned champion and wins a WPT Bootcamp package valued at R70,000 and the magical sum of R 1 000 000.

The King is really the King!

Hand 134: Darren completes and is checked. Flop 4s 7s 5, 2s, J. Jay bets and wins

Hand 135: Jay completes. To the flop: 5 Q A , a bet from Darren ends the hand.

Hand 136: Darren calls. Flop 3 4 8, Darren bets and Jay calls, Turn Q and river 6. Darren bets 180k and takes the pot.

Hand 125: Darren completes and we see a flop. 10 10c Jc Darren bets 60k and is called, 8c and 4 d. A bet from Jay seals the hand.

Hand 126: Jay gives Kramer a walk.

Hand 127: Darren raises to 150k and is called. Flop Ah 4 7h. Darren takes the pot.

Hand 114: Darren completes and Jay raises all-in. Darren folds and Jay shows 8 8 .

Hand 115: Jay completes and Darren checks. Flop 5 K 2, turn, 3 and Jay bets 100k which Darren calls, river 7 and Jay goes all-in. Darren folds. Jay gets one back!
