Battle of the Nicks
Brown has finally run out of steam. He shoved the remainder of his stack before the blinds got to him with a paltry 8 4 and was called by a refreshed Brian Winterstein with 9 9. (Winterstein was late getting back to the poker room because he fell asleep during the dinner break.) Brown managed to pick up a draw on the turn but Winterstein made a set on the river to seal the win and send Steven Brown to the smokers’ rail in 38th position.
Sissou and Berman tangled in what turned out to be an interesting hand. On an A J 10 flop, Sissou went all-in with A 6 and was called by Berman with K K. The turn card was the dream card for Berman in the form of a Queen allowing him to freeroll. Sissou looked in serious trouble till a King appeared on the river to give both players the straight and a split pot!
