Aussie Millions kicks off opening event
Day 1a of the $1,100 AUD buy-in opening event at this year’s Aussie Millions saw some aggressive poker action. The player field exceeding 300 players, was whittled down to a mere 51 players, with the Australian Xen Xenofontos sitting in the lead (holding 186,300 in chips) earlier today.
Tony Hachem is amongst the remaining players and ended Day 1a with 136,600 in chips. Also in the lead, players: Dan Carter (106,900), Jarred Graham (100,600) and Vanessa Selbst (92,400) will go into Day 1b with a considerable advantage.
Railbirds will have today and tomorrow to buy back in and get the opportunity to secure a decent chip stack, before the re-buy window closes and the heat of the tournament is turned up. Re-buy privileges are permitted on day 1a, 1b and 1c.
As the Aussie Millions Main Event draws nearer, remember that South Africa’s very own Ilija Martinovic and Jay Sookoo will be competing in hopes of bringing home the glory. Stay tuned for the latest updates on this year’s Aussie Millions.
