Annie Duke gets fired for playing life like poker
World Series of Poker bracelet holder and established poker professional, Annie Duke, recently got fired from Donald Trump’s Celebrity Apprentice Television Show, because, as her competitor Joan Rivers put it…. “she plays life like poker.” Rivers, an actor and TV host who is renowned for her role in female stand-up comedy, feels that she finally won, because she “plays life like bingo.”
Annie Duke and Joan Rivers were the last two contenders standing in this hit show that was aimed at raising money for charity. The two pulled out all the stops to eliminate each other, including bashing each other publicly. But in the end it was concluded with Rivers hugging Duke affectionately after winning the final face-off. For her victory, Rivers received a hefty $250,000 which will be donated to her charity of choice, named “God’s love we deliver.”
However, we bet in the upcoming 2009 WSOP Annie will take no prisoners. This feisty lady insists on being branded as one of the best players, and not as one of the best female players. She also refuses to compete in any women-only events. “Poker is one of the only sports where a woman can compete on a totally equal footing with a man,” says Duke. So guys, if you face Annie Duke across a poker table at the 2009 WSOP…. Be careful… be VERY careful…
