Alvin Pillay (42) is a business man from Durban. He has only been playing poker for 18 months when he accidentally bought into a poker game thinking it was a black jack table. Since he knew nothing of the game the sharks quickly took him out. However, instead of feeling disheartened he stayed at the table to watch the others and learn more about the game. And since then Alvin hasn’t looked back. “I’ve been improving my game ever since, so when a group of friends said they were going up to Swaziland to play in the Freezeout, I decided to join them,” he says. “While I never expected to win, I was confident that I could hold my own.”
