All Africa Poker TV scores a poker first for Africa’s viewers
All Africa Poker TV, sponsored by Piggs Peak Casino Swaziland, has clinched a first for Africa’s poker fans.
The leading poker content provider has secured an exclusive deal with the Poker Channel Europe, bringing European poker action to local screens.
From July 2010, poker enthusiasts will be able to catch European poker highlights every night, from 12:30am to 2:30am, exclusive to the All Africa Poker TV slot on DStv’s Channel 112.
For starters, poker lovers can look forward to footage from the 2009 and 2010 Irish Open, the longest No Limit Texas Hold-em tournament in Europe, contested by hundreds of players each year. All Africa Poker TV has also revealed that it will broadcast footage from the European Cash Game Series 1 and 2, where 11 of Europe’s top poker pros represented 10 countries in a cash game with a minimum chip stack of €10 000.
Commenting on the deal, Chris White, the managing director of the Poker Channel Europe, said: “This is our first step into Africa and a huge milestone for us and our partners. It shows the desire to play and watch poker continues to grow around the world.”
