All Africa Poker Commentator on Winning Streak
Whether it's golf or poker, All Africa Poker Commentator & Bluff SA Editor Ryan Dreyer seems to be on a roll. This past week, from the 24th to the 29th of March 2009, Ryan outplayed some of the top dogs on the local poker scene to finish in an excellent 3rd place at one of South Africa’s premier poker events, the MonteCasino Poker Open.
Ryan, AKA “Rhino”, played a solid game throughout the tournament but found himself a little short-stacked towards the end of day 2. But in true “Rhino” style he simply put his head down, focused and managed to grind his way to the final table.
In spite of entering the final phase with a disadvantage, he remained patient until he found a hand with which he could double up. Shortly after, he doubled up again to take the chip lead when he showed down a straight to Ryan Price’s set. By the time there were only three players left, they were pretty evenly stacked, but Ryan lost a big hand that sent him to the rails in 3rd place.
Ryan was very pleased with his performance though, as it earned him some valuable points that moved him into second place for the newly launched Bluff Poker Player Awards. The All Africa Poker Team would like to congratulate Ryan on this achievement. You go Ryan! We sincerely hope that you will be able to maintain this winning streak!
