A word from Ray
Day 2 play is about to get underway. We caught up with the godfather of SA poker, Ray Rahme this morning, who is currently second chip leader behind Nic Zakhem, to find out what his thoughts are about today’s play and what went down yesterday. “I had a good day yesterday, not having to re-buy,” says Rahme. “I played a lot of hands, and a lot of them held up, so I am happy – re-buy tournaments are not my favourite as the play is generally very loose, and yesterday was no different. We can expect play to be toned down today with the re-buy period out of the way, so we should see a lot more respect at all the tables. We should see the field halved by the end of play today though – it’s going to be a longday.”
Starting blinds are 300/600 (100 ante), going up to 400/800 (100 ante) in an hour. The hot table from yesterday, table 2 featuring Daniel Lamberti, Ryan Brauer, Lolly Jackson, Wessel Jacobs, Conrad Coetzer and Jay Sookoo has moved to the TV table and we can expect more action from these players today.
Day 1 chip counts will be posted shortly….
