A day of no cards and a hard battle for Joe Rahme
Joseph Rahme joined the 1,303 players from Day 1C and Day 1D today, in their attempt to make it to Day 3 and to feature in the money of the 2007 World Series of Poker Main Event. However, a day of no cards and starting short stacked meant that Joe faced an uphill battle, which he bravely fought, finally being eliminated late this afternoon.
Day 2B has concluded with 459 players remaining, the average chip stack around 128,000. There was a notable elimination an hour ago, of Daniel “Kid Poker” Negreanu. Gus Hansen is currently chip leader with 558,000 chips.
Ryan Brauer continues his good form in his play at Day 2 of the WPT No Limit Hold'em Championship Bellagio Cup. Day 1 resulted in 50 out of the 125 starters making it through. Today 92 out of 175 were successful in making it through to Day 2.
Ryan finished up the day with 47,000 chips, five thousand more than average. Tomorrow is the third and final first day, and second day will be played on Friday 13th July. Prize money is expected to be in excess of 4 Million US Dollars.
Ryan said that today was quite an easy day, and he managed to more than double his stack without too much risk. “I am playing a very solid game and looking forward to playing on Friday, amongst a field of international professional players”, said Brauer, recent winner of Bellagio Cup III Event 23, where he won $153,345 and a $25,500 seat into the WPT Championship Event at Bellagio in April 2008.
