Sweeney and Dadic can grab a drink

Dermot Sweeney has been eliminated in 39^th position by Joe Rahme. Dermot Sweeney had 10 10 and Joe J J. No help on the flop but the river was a K which would have given Darryn van Heerden the win. (He folded A K preflop to the raise, reraise.)

John Abrosie cripples Ryan Price with a steal move with K 6 to Price’s 10 10. Abrosie after begging and insisting, actually hit the King on the flop and Price has less than 10,000 left.

David Dadic’s run has ended. He threw in his last few chips with a J Q but once again Wessel Jacobs had pocket aces! 38^th position.

The last fatalities before dinner

Edward Pastoll has been eliminated in 41^st place.

Johann Hoffman has just fallen victim to Sherill Loser who seems to be using hubby’s chips wisely. He had very few chips after the tangle with Dadic and pushed with Q 10. He found Sherill waiting with A K and has summarily been booted to the rail in 40^th spot.

And the fortunes of David Dadic change yet again. In a most unlikely hand, small blind Eben Lottering found A A and big blind Dadic found K K! No help for David and his stack is back down to about 20k.

The dinner break is currently running and we will resume play at 20h50.

Dadic delivers

Once again pockets sixes in the hands of David Dadic prove lethal.

In a hand that was for his tournament life he found himself slightly behind with his favourite 6 6 to Johannes Hoffman’s J J. The flop cooperated (3 4 5) and gave David a few more outs. He hit the 7 on the turn to lock the hand and double up! Go Babyshoes!

Grounds for divorce?

Sherrill Loser just knocked out her husband! Glen shipped all of his chips into the middle with A Q and was shocked and horrified that his wife called him. She turned over pocket Jacks (if you were a husband and wife team would you make that call against your spouse?) and Glen now gets to go and play Blackjack! He has been unceremoniously eliminated by his wife in 42^nd position.

At least now they have definitive proof of who the better poker player is.

The Cowboys are deadly

Rudi Snyman has just pushed all-in with K 9 suited in clubs and found Tony Silva in the BB with K K! He flopped the nine and turned a flush draw but alas, nothing better came on the river and he is eliminated in 44^th position.

Conrad Coetzer explained to Anthony Gordon, who was so short stacked that he moved his last 600 chips in without looking at his cards, that stepping away from the table and not looking was better. Hence Anthony Gordon was informed when the hand was over that he had been eliminated in 43^rd place. At least his hand will be a surprise when he catches it on the poker channel!

Lamberti and Patsalos ejected

Daniel Lamberti is out! In an unraised pot with four limpers his suited 6 7 on the button flopped the nuts on a 5 8 9 board. He thought Christmas had come early when the small bilnd shipped. Lamberti called and the SB showed 5 5 for a set of fives. Turn K, River K. Full house and Lamberti is eliminated in 46^th spot.

Wessel Jacobs just found A A yet again! And this time it cost Kyri Patsalos his tournament. Kyri pushed with 3 3 and was of course called. No help from the community cards and Kyri heads home in 45th position.

All Calm in Poker Land

Play has settled to a calmer pace. The rich are getting richer (Comment from Ray Rahme about Joe Rahme,) the short stacks are fighting to stay alive and generally succeeding, at least for now. Anthony Gordon is still hanging in there and Conrad Coetzer has just doubled up at the expense of Jarred Solomon.

Marlene joins Bennie

Marlene is the first victim after the break. She joins her husband on the rail. Out in 48^th position.

Glen Loser made quick work of Mark Lifman by making a call on a massive raise with 9 9. Lifman showed A Q and whilst he picked up more outs along the way, he did not manage to improve. Eliminated in 47^th spot.
