Sissou MIA …

Nick Sissou

We have searched high and low and can't find Nick Sissou, and have to assume he's been knocked out.

Apart from Warren Zackey, it's been a tough day for all team members, but true to the South African spirit, they're hanging in there.

Ryan Brauer is working off 90 minutes sleep – had a rough night unable to sleep and is feeling the effects now.

The WSOP tournament team are working on getting all the remaining 1,386 players into one room – Amazon, so many tables are breaking and team members are moving around. Average chip stacks is around 141,000.

Ryan Price's Aces cracked to exit WSOP '09

Ryan Price's pocket Aces were cracked with a flush on the river to eliminate him from WSOP 2009.

Ryan Price has been eliminated in a really bad manner. Ryan “FBT” Brauer filled us in on how it happened. “It saddens me to have to inform you that Ryan Price has gone down, he made a big pre-flop raise, was called, board came Queen high rainbow, managed to get all his chips in with Aces against K Q of Clubs, turn and river came Club Club to knock him out with the flush, which is pretty sick, as you can’t get your money in much better. Lots of “donks” out there playing King Queen like it’s the nuts, and unfortunately you have to run good.”

At the first break of Day 3, 1,683 players remain and the blinds are 800/1600 with a200 ante. Average chip stack is around 116,000.

Team All Africa Poker: 13 starters for Day 3

13 South Africans have taken their seats at the WSOP $10,000 Main Event Day 3, following a rest day on Thursday, they make up some of the 2,044 players who have survived 2 days of play and 9 levels. Only 648 players will cash in this event, so there is still a long way to go.

Our four-level Day 2b has come to a close, and what a day it's been.

A whopping 2,924 players from Days 1c and 1d started today, and with capacity officially at around 2,800, the tournament directors were forced to drag out some extra tables to accommodate them all — literally every poker table in the whole building was in use at the start of the day.

With the expected Day 2 carnage, we lost more than half our our field in eight hours of play. Among those who couldn't stand the pace were Erick Lindgren, Shannon Shorr, Victor Ramdin, Vanessa Rousso, Scotty Nguyen and Howard Lederer.

Among those who will be coming back for Day 3, though, we have such luminaries as Phil Ivey, ElkY, David Benyamine, Justin Bonomo and Dan Harrington. In addition, Day 1d chip leader Troy Weber seems to have maintained his status as leader of the pack.

There will be a one-day rest break for everyone to psyche themselves up, so we'll be back on Friday July 10th at noon to see if we can't get this baby into the money!

Sandy Koor eliminated

Sandy Koor, who spent most of his day 2B in the short stack position on the table, has been eliminated. He couldn't be found to interview, but we send our commiserations.
