Skye high

Skye Fraser is out in 30th place. This is Skye’s first AAPT and her very first “real” tournament. She is a full time student studying a BCom in Accounts and she may just change career paths after this performance. She has outlasted most of the men, a couple of pros and only one more lady is left to contest for the coveted title.

So many outs…

Thomas van der Spuy in his first All Africa, acquitted himself well by ending in 32nd place. His AQ suited, despite developing into a straight draw and a flush draw on the turn, unfortunately did not improve and the pocket queens sent him packing…

Out in 31st was Ray Leisher. His pocket Queens stared across the table at pocket Kings and the ladies just couldn’t compete.

Joe Rahme is just starting to see straight again.

Big Slick holds up for a change

A 8 versus AK is a terrible match up on a good day but Big Slick has cost many a player their tournament life today. Luckily for Jaco Storm his big slick wasn’t counterfeited by Michael Simoes unsuited and desperate A 8 all-in. Michael Simoes is out in 34th position.

Michael Taylor is following Michael Simoes out of the poker room when his AJ also couldn’t dent Dave Spangenberg’s Big Slick. Taylor out in 33rd.

Maybe Anna Kournikova is worth Playing with?…

Jason Peter undone by Eights

Out in 35th, Jason’s Big Slick could not catch up with the eights of Stan Carruthers. A great showing given that this is his first All Africa and his first BIG event. Well done Jason!

At the same time Darren Kramer was put to the test by Kyri Patsalos and lost about half of his stack. He is soldiering on.

The story of Bob

Bob Masson has just completed his fourth All Africa and is distressed that his record of improved performance has ended. He has improved from 101st in his first appearance, 51st in his second, an impressive 11th in his third and sadly out in 36th in his fourth.

Bob will be back to try and improve his record. Cheers Bob!

Ray Rahme – unstoppable?

No one can dodge Ray’s bullets as Brian Welman found out when he went all-in with A9 and Ray showed him American Airlines! Brian finished 42nd and will at least be consoled by the fact that he was evicted by the South African Poker Juggernaut!

Its dinner time. Back in an hour and ten minutes for the final session of the night.

Bad beat of the tourney?

The always exuberant and sometimes loud Gareth Kalil has just been eliminated in 43rd position.

Johan Gaybba is reeling after the most unexpected bad beat of the tournament. He called the all-in of short stack Eben Lottering who had a K 7, with his pocket Jacks. The flop was 3 3 3 giving Gaybba a full house. The turn produced a Jack changing the fullhouse into an unbeatable one. The river somehow produced the case 3 to give both players penalty threes but Lottering’s King kicker took down the pot!

Thankfully, its almost dinner.

Joe Rahme still has not recovered.

Good showing for Club VIP winner

Rick Fernandes the winner of the 94.7 Highveld Stereo VIP club draw has done a tremendous job of finishing in 45th spot. The rookie player’s performance has outshone many of the established players. Well done Rick, we hope to see you again at All Africa.

Heinz Rynners was third last in chips overnight and had a great run today to finish a very respectable 44th.
