The eagle has (crash) landed

Ilja Martinovic proved that playing high pairs is not his forte. His pocket Jacks were 4 to 1 preflop favourites but turned into nine to one underdogs when the flop produced a three to match opponents pocket threes. 47th this time around for the White Eagle who’s ability to hit low flops is legendary.

Costandinos Caravotas was out-kicked and kicked out in 46th position when his JQ ran into AQ.

There’s no dodging bullets

Berend Van Dam is out in 48th place. His pocket fours were leading after the flop but the Ace high flush draw was too much temptation for Ray Leisher who called the all-in. Leisher missed the flush draw but the Ace came on the turn sealing Van Dam’s fate.

The legend continues

Zlatko Dobronic has just been eliminated in 50th place by the legendary Peter Vermaas. Mr Vermaas converted his pair of fives into a full house and left The AJ of Dobronic looking bleak.

Peter Vermaas is of course the player with the best record at All Africa having won it twice and making numerous more final tables.

Darren Chandler also joins the growing group of spectators that are looking on hungrily at the survivors. He finished in 49th position.
