20 Year Old Brandon Hall nabs the title from Robert Mizrachi
To the amazement of bystanders, 20-year old Brandon AKA “AreTheseUtz” Hall has just nabbed the 2009 $5,500 Aruba Poker Classic Championship title from WSOP Bracelet Holder and established poker pro- Robert Mizrachi. Hall’s poker records reflect a mere four substantial cashes since 2008, while Mizrachi has finished in the money at 57 major poker tournaments and has close to $3 million in poker earnings already.
Mizrachi was the chip leader throughout the final stages of the tournament. Hall on the other hand, went into final play with the short stack, but managed to increase his chips significantly in a hand against Eric “basebaldy” Baldwin. By the time Mizrachi and Hall went heads-up, they agreed to a chop. Both players locked up 2nd place money for $414,680, took their chip percentage of the remaining prize pool and put up $30,000 each for the winner. But within a few minutes after, Hall was declared the winner.
Hall’s triumph was no small feat, as he had to outplay a playing field of 475, including some of the biggest names in poker, such as “The Poker Brat” Phil Hellmuth; Joe Sebok; Annie Duke; Matt Binger; Casey Kastle and many more.
