Spangenberg knocked out holding bullets

David Spangenberg has been knocked out after going all-in with bullets. Vincenzo Fernandes called him with pocket 10s, which held up when he hit a third on the turn. We are now down to 112 players.

More of the AAPT all-in action

Just before the blinds went up to 700/1400 (200 ante) the main table had an all-in, with Peter Kortleve staying in the tournament with the bullets against Huawei Sun’s A J. The flop came Q Q 7 to give Peter the win with 2 pair. Table 5 also had an all-in moment shortly after, with Renier Britz staying in the game with a K Q vs Miguel Milheiro’s Q J. The flop was Q 7 3 keeping Renier ahead, but the river gave him 2 pair when the K fell.

Jared Mortimer out

Jared Mortimer lost out to Steve Gerson on table 2, when he went all-in pre-flop with pocket 10s. Steve had A K which hit two As on the flop to take the hand. That leaves 96 players.

Down to 97 players

Warren Zackey knocked Desmond Godfrey out with pocket fish hooks against A K. The board fell J 2 9 10 5 to give Zackey the win.
Next out was Peterus Erasmus Taljaard, who was knocked out by Keith Bishop on table 9. Peterus went all-in with K A pre-flop. Keith called with pocket Ks which held out with nothing falling on the board.
Neville vd Westhuizen was knocked out next by Mark Lifman, pitting his A 10 against Mark’s pocket ladies when the flop fell 8 Q A, giving each player a piece of the action. However, nothing fell on the turn and river, giving Mark the win and sending Neville home.
Johan Kemp was also knocked out, reducing the field to 97 players.

Bozo out

David “Bozo” Rosenthal has been knocked out by Matthys du Toit. A well played betting hand turned into an all-in call by Bozo on the turn, sitting with J J. The flop came 2 2 10, which put Matthys ahead with 2 Q. Good betting drew the all-in from Bozo, but trip 2s held up knocking him out.

Three more players out

Just before the break Oliver Berman went down to Joe Rahme at table 8, going all-in with A 10. Joe called with K J. Both hit pairs with 8 3 J 10 4 on the board. Joe’s Js held up.
Neil Andrews knocked two players out when his pocket Qs found the full house against Lino Pestana’s Ad 10d and Joel Ettedji’s pocket 3s. The board fell 3 7 Q 2 2 to give Neil the full house on the river in what was a big hand.
We are down to 104 players. Average stack is 65,000.

Renaut and Jacobs double up

David Renaut went all in on the turn, when he hit two pair. With Q 8 in the hole, with the board Q Q 5 8, he shoved and was called by Joep van Almenkerk’s 8 8. A 4 on the river gave David the win
Wessel Jacobs beat out Conrad Coetzer on the main table, when he went all-in with A K off against Conrad’s J J. An A on the flop gave Wessel the win and he doubles up.

Main table action – Winterstein out

Jay Sookoo has doubled up by knocking Brian Winterstein out of the main table. Jay shoved with pocket Ks to before the turn, Brian called with Q A on a flop of 10 K J, putting him on a straight. Sookoo got the lifeline on the turn and the river when 7 7 fell to give him the full house and win the hand.

Two all-ins in 5 min

Table 5 had an all-in, with Miguel Milheiro going all-in with fish hooks. Jose Pestana called with A K suited. The flop came 2 J A to put Miguel ahead with trips. Nothing came on the turn or river for Jose to keep Miguel in the game.
As soon as that action was over, Colin O’Neil went all in with A K and was called by Steve Gerson on J 10. The flop came 8 K J to give Colin the win with a pair of Ks over Steve’s Js.

Ilija making a move

Defending champ, Ilija Martinovic is making a move on table 6, taking down a large pot against first timer, Michael Saltwedel. Ilija out bet his opponent to take the pot, and showed a straight draw A through 5 to cast no doubt over the strength of his. He is now the overwhelming chip leader at the table, which includes Mel Banfield and Neville Eber.
